Your presumption is that we haven't been the 'good guys' in Iraq and Afghanistan.
You are in error when you say "our fellow Democracies" because we are not now nor have we ever been a Democracy;
and,
Because there aren't even any democracies for us to get along with. In fact in the Mid-East there is only one representative government at all, and that is the one you wish for us to abandon - Israel.
